About Performing Arts Network
PAN, Performing Arts Network is non-profit coalition with a membership of more than 60 artists and arts organizations, which facilitates, develops, and promotes the performing arts, and is committed to increasing access, involvement and relationships between performing artists and the community. PAN provides a broad range of services, such as providing space for resident and visiting artists to hold classes, workshops, rehearsals, lecture/demonstrations, performances, and more than 50 regularly scheduled classes each week. With hours of operation seven days a week, in all styles of Dance, Music and Theatre for children, adults and seniors, beginners through professionals, programs for individuals with special needs, and performing arts Summer Camp for children, PAN provides a myriad of diverse professional arts experiences under one roof. PAN annually produces an In-Studio Performance Series featuring resident companies and artists, as well as guest artists. The 2007-2008 In-Studio Performance series presented more than 10 events with a diverse mix of disciplines and cultures. PAN programs foster improved and direct involvement of audiences with different art forms.
PAN provides opportunities for artists to self-produce at little or no cost, making it possible to show new work and reach new audiences when costs would normally make this impossible for small organizations and individual artists. PAN provides assistance with marketing, networking, and new collaborations that would not occur without this “laboratory type of environment. PAN's intimate setting gives artists a unique opportunity to connect with and educate audiences. Artists have access to office equipment and training, discounts on related services such as photography, videography, sound recording, massage and physical therapy. PAN provides many opportunities for artists to market their work through distribution of flyers, posters, newsletters, websites, press releases, and appearances at community events and schools.
PAN's programs are made possible with the support of The State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, The Cultural Affairs Council, The Mayor, The Miami-Dade County Board of Commissioners, The Children's Trust, Dade Community Foundation, and The National Endowment for The Arts.
